Sidney Franklin, born in Brooklyn in 1903 to a Russian-Jewish family, left home at nineteen and found himself captivated by bullfighting in Mexico. With bold ambition and little experience, he pursued the life of a matador, eventually fighting in major rings across Mexico and Spain, and sharing time with Hemingway in Spain during the Civil War.
Now CTL member Ivan Moseley after months of dedicated research has completed a compelling book on Sidney Franklin, the legendary “Bullfighter from Brooklyn.” He wishes to make it available as a free downloadable PDF to CTL members and invites them not only to read but to contribute any additional insights or materials to enrich the story further.
