February 2026 Newsletter

Dear Members,

We are now just a month away from Olivenza and Las Fallas, heralding for many the start of their temporada. During these darker winter months our WhatsApp group has been most illuminating. The chats range from news such as Telemadrid broadcasting the entire cartels of San Isidro to historical research and surprisingly commentary on Morante’s reappearance. If you are not in this group you are missing out, contact Felix to join.

Overdue subscriptions

There are currently 78 members who have not yet paid their 2026 subscriptions. Whilst these things are easy to overlook we would be grateful if you would please ensure that your membership is paid up to date. We will email outstanding members in due course to ensure they wish to remain members and receive our membership benefits (La Divisa; WhatsApp group etc.). Any specific payment queries should be addressed directly to our treasurer Roberto Cerdena roberto.cerdena@icloud.com

Voluntary Donations

We have had an amazing and response to our appeal for donations.  Some members have been incredibly generous and supportive and so far we have raised over £2000 which equates to gaining another 29 UK members (without any associated costs). On behalf of the Committee, thank you all so much. Please remember it is never too late to make a donation if you would like to do so.

Club clothing

Club Vocal Henry Mira has been beavering away and has now sourced a quality supplier and samples of a Gilet, Polo shirt and Panuelo. Each item will have the Club’s logo embroidered on it and you will be able to order directly from the manufacturer. Henry is currently working out some details and we hope to announce availability in the near future.

Please keep your suggestions and requests coming and most importantly consider writing articles for La Divisa.
