Dear Members,

I very much hope that some of you have been able to attend corridas in Spain and France this summer and do please consider writing up your experience for La Divisa.

I enjoyed catching up with some members in Malaga recently and certainly the last two corridas made the trip worthwhile. I am sure we will be talking about some of this in our upcoming September club meeting.

In August, Helen W kindly arranged a delicious dinner at El Pirata in Mayfair. A small but select crowd attended and it was a good opportunity to get to know a few members better. Members are encouraged to suggest and/or arrange other social events whenever possible.

Please welcome Juan MT - ‘I am 26 and recently moved to live in London to do an MBA at LBS. Really passionate "Las Ventas aficionado" where I've had a season pass since I was 15, but I have travelled all over Spain and some of France to see bullfights. Looking forward to being part of the club.’

Monthly meeting, 10 September, 7.30pm (cartel attached)

After the summer break, the CTL resumes its activity with a tertulia taurina which will discuss a variety of aspects of the temporada that is about to finish. For this, we have assembled a cartel de lujo of 4 experienced club members: Andrew Moore, Carlos Lorenzo, John Gordon and Tristan Wood. Each of them will do a short talk (10-15 minutes) about different topics, after which they will have a Q&A session with the audience.

The topics will be:

- Andrew – ‘Madrid, at a crossroads’- Carlos – ‘A dull temporada’- John – ‘What are we going to do after Morante?’- Tristan – ‘Ignored toreros of 2026’

There is no excuse to miss this event, which should appeal to both seasoned and beginner aficionados alike. Please show your support for the club on 10 September 2026, 7:30 PM BST via Zoom.
