As a most challenging 2020 nears its end we can maybe start to be confident that normal life will return at some point in the Spring of next year. Whilst the plans for many early season ferias are as yet unknown, some (such as Arles at Easter) have announced that they intend to go ahead if at all legally possible. Let us hope that others of the major plazas rise to the challenge, that we will be able to return to our normal cycle of social events, and will all get to see some bulls in the not too distant future.
December monthly meeting
Our final monthly meeting of 2020 will take place on Thursday 10 December at 7.30pm. The meeting will once again be held via the Zoom video conferencing system.
We are delighted that this month we will be joined by the matador Noe Gomez del Pilar and by his apoderado Juan Carlos de Padua. Noe was the club’s 2012 Novillero Of The Year before taking his alternativa in 2013. Noe has been one of the stars of the recent "Gira de la Reconstruccion" which culminated in Logrono on the 21st of November where he faced 2 tough nearly-6-year old Miuras, cutting the ear of one of them. Noe and his Juan will talk to us about the strange 2020 season and their hopes and plans for the future. They will speak in Spanish and Andrew Moore and Felix will assist with the translation.
If you wish to join this most interesting meeting please let me know by 8th December and I will send the log in details on the 9th.
Below is a photo of Noe and Juan taken this summer by Andrew Moore. I do hope you will be able to join us on the 10th and wish all an enjoyable festive season.
With best wishes
