March 2026 Newsletter

Dear Members,

Well, here we are at the start of a new Temporada, with Olivenza kicking off in a couple of days and then Castellón and Valencia. If you are planning on attending corridas be sure to contact other members through our WhatsApp group, meeting up before or after the corrida is all part of the fun.

The WhatsApp group is a very useful and instant way of communicating with other members, it recently featured a lot of comment about Morante’s ‘active retirement’. Please remember to keep your posts to taurine matters and be respectful.

Outstanding subscriptions                             

There are still some subscriptions that remain outstanding for 2026.  We very much want to retain as many members as possible, and we have emailed everyone that appears to be in arrears. For payment queries please email our Treasurer directly at roberto.cerdena@icloud.com. For any other queries please contact me. Past members that have not paid by 20^th March will no longer have access to any club benefits.

Next Zoom meeting: Thursday 12^th March, 7.30pm GMT

We are delighted to announce Mexican matador Isaac Fonseca as the guest speaker at March’s Zoom meeting.

Fonseca, from Michoacán, made his debut as a novillero in Madrid on 25 September 2021 and was awarded the prestigious "Alfarero de Oro" prize in Villaseca de la Sagra that year. He took his alternativa on 11 August 2022. 2023 was a very special year for him: he confirmed his alternativa in Madrid on 15 May 2023, won the Copa Chenel final in Colmenar Viejo and reached number 24 in the "escalafón" of that year.

Isaac Fonseca will talk to us from Spain, where he will be getting ready for the new temporada. He is due to appear in San Isidro on 27 May with Pedraza de Yeltes bulls, accompanied by Jarocho and Molina.

Madrid San Isidro lunch: Friday 29^th May 2026

Our annual Madrid lunch will be held as usual at The Wellington Hotel in Madrid on 29^th May. Ticket prices and guest of honour will be announced soon, in the meantime if you wish to reserve a place please email me.

Feria de Abril Sevilla  

Mark Rayner will be arranging a lunch and a Ganaderia visit at this time, again please email me or Mark if you are interested in attending one or both. We will announce more details as soon as possible.
